If it was completely uninvolved, then was someone else awake? Which is weird to think, because it meant they somehow missed all of that.

... unless they didn't miss it, or they weren't able to see it like how sometimes we miss stuff until trial.

Maybe. Though I dunno why someone would randomly go kill a horse. At the very least, wouldn't you be afraid of accidentally running into the other killer?
